Artist's Description
Every spring (when we have rain in the preceding winter) we have in Southern California a brief time of green grass that covers the hills with a beautiful lush carpet. I don't know how long this time lasts in Northern California, where this picture was taken, but every time I see a verdant landscape like this I get excited and want to paint it! Here you can see through the clean clear air through the grass and right to the distant horizon.
The original photograph from which I painted this was taken by my parents as they traveled. I gave them the original painting.

Greetings! I am so happy to be a part of this amazing worldwide community or artists. I come from a family of creative people and am grateful to my parents for cultivating my creativity which is now part of my daily life. I am a classically-trained musician and violinist with a doctorate in violin performance and until recently was the director and conductor of the La Verne Symphony Orchestra which I am happy to say still flourishes in that city. At the moment I've left the stage in order to raise our two little babies. Being a mom is what I do now. And the challenge is weaving creativity into this new life.
