Sorry for your loss, Danielle! You have unwittingly captured a stunningly beautiful scene, which will be typical of the place to which they have gone, except that there it will just be average rather than exceptional. There is nothing in this world, which is not much, much better and more beautiful than in the next.

Artist's Description

This is one of the most important paintings I’ve ever done because it was requested by my father. He and my brother did a lot of backpacking together with the Scouts and this was one of the places they saw. It’s Convict Lake in Mono County. This is also the largest canvas painting I’ve ever done by far being something like 2’ by 3’. When my dad told me what he wanted I said, “But I can’t get a canvas that size!” And he said, “Is that the only thing stopping you? I’ll get you a canvas.” We’ll guess what showed up at their next visit! But it’s taken me about two years to feel it was the right time to do this. I painted it over the course of three days during precious time when my kids were having rest time. This lake is another example of the beauty and precious nature of so many wild places fo...

About Danielle Rosaria

Danielle Rosaria

Greetings! I am so happy to be a part of this amazing worldwide community or artists. I come from a family of creative people and am grateful to my parents for cultivating my creativity which is now part of my daily life. I am a classically-trained musician and violinist with a doctorate in violin performance and until recently was the director and conductor of the La Verne Symphony Orchestra which I am happy to say still flourishes in that city. At the moment I've left the stage in order to raise our two little babies. Being a mom is what I do now. And the challenge is weaving creativity into this new life. This is how I rediscovered my love for visual arts (and which is also why you will see babies in many of my works!). I have a deep...
