Artist's Description
This is a minimalist marine piece that I did as part of an exploration of the world through autism. This piece was a long time in coming even as it sits in its simplicity. It was inspired by my series, "Autism Awareness" because I have learned that people on the spectrum often experience the world through textures. My daughter loves Playdough, slime, sensory bins ant the like, so I want to create more art that is three dimensional. My dream is to create interactive art someday.
This piece was made first by using Playdough and pressing coral and sea shells into it to create molds. Then I poured white acrylic paint into these molds and allowed them to dry. Once this process was complete the work came together quickly and with a lovely flow of creativity, for I had been dreaming for weeks about what colors I should use for this painting. The two elements that are not paint here are the real sand dollar in the lower right corner and the sand that I mixed into the brown on the sea...
About Danielle Rosaria
Greetings! I am so happy to be a part of this amazing worldwide community or artists. I come from a family of creative people and am grateful to my parents for cultivating my creativity which is now part of my daily life. Even in a print, the texture and depth you were hoping for is evident. Very interesting and striking piece, Danielle. In the Best of Minimalism group, features depend on nominations by members; this is one of my two pod's for January 4.

Thank you so very much Nikolyn! I really appreciate your kind comment. I love doing these "painting with objects" pieces.
