Artist's Description
It’s amazing to me but I painted this over 20 years ago! I was 16 at the time. I became obsessed with winning the Federal Junior Duck Stamp Competition. Year after year I entered. I never won first place, but I did learn how to paint. My mom was my patient teacher during this time. This and the Wood Duck No. 2 were painted from photographs that I took at the Los Angeles Arboretum. There are still wood ducks there every winter and spring!

Greetings! I am so happy to be a part of this amazing worldwide community or artists. I come from a family of creative people and am grateful to my parents for cultivating my creativity which is now part of my daily life. I am a classically-trained musician and violinist with a doctorate in violin performance and until recently was the director and conductor of the La Verne Symphony Orchestra which I am happy to say still flourishes in that city. At the moment I've left the stage in order to raise our two little babies. Being a mom is what I do now. And the challenge is weaving creativity into this new life.
