Artist's Description
There was a group of people surrounding the magnificent peacock showing off his breeding plumage when I saw an even lovelier sight: off to to side a little girl opened her mouth wide at the sight and then raised her arms in imitation of his huge tail. It was the moment I had had been waiting for, that special moment that makes artists everywhere carry their cameras with them. I too the photo home and immediately started this piece. Until now, I am the only one who witnessed this amazing moment between the peacock and the girl. Now rest assured, this girl was much farther away from the peacock in real life. And her parents were right there. It's best to keep a distance from these big birds (I got pecked by one when I was this small, but fortunately I still love them). How extraordinary for this little girl, seeing this magnificent bird for the first time! This is a movement that captures for me the absolute beauty of children. This scene took place at the Los Angeles Arboretum in Arcadi...

Greetings! I am so happy to be a part of this amazing worldwide community or artists. I come from a family of creative people and am grateful to my parents for cultivating my creativity which is now part of my daily life. I am a classically-trained musician and violinist with a doctorate in violin performance and until recently was the director and conductor of the La Verne Symphony Orchestra which I am happy to say still flourishes in that city.
