Artist's Description

I love the concept of embracing neurodiversity! Neurodiversity is the natural variation of brain function that exists within the human family. This is an inclusive term that brings together the neuro-typical, like my son and my husband, and the not to typical like my daughter and myself who are on the autism spectrum. While neurodiversity can express itself in some challenging ways, it also comes with tremendous gifts and new perspectives. I like to call them "super powers." My super powers are art and music. I have no clue what's happening mathematically but that's okay! This is the symbol for neurodiversity. It's a Mobius strip which goes around and around as a sign for infinity. It also looks like the number eight, another sign for infinity. That's because each of us, right down to our DNA and our neurological makeup, are unique and irreplaceable. I think this design would look super cool as street art, like a huge mural like the ones I uses to see on the freeway coming into LA. I w...

Greetings! I am so happy to be a part of this amazing worldwide community or artists. I come from a family of creative people and am grateful to my parents for cultivating my creativity which is now part of my daily life. I am a classically-trained musician and violinist with a doctorate in violin performance and until recently was the director and conductor of the La Verne Symphony Orchestra which I am happy to say still flourishes in that city. At the moment I've left the stage in order to raise our two little babies. Being a mom is what I do now. And the challenge is weaving creativity into this new life.
