Artist's Description

The most ordinary things are often the most magical. I often see these cheeky birds flapping amongst the small green trees, pecking at each other and then sunning themselves. This one was drawn right into cardboard, the kind that’s always in back of a pad of drawing paper. Here the mockingbird sits sunning himself in a palo verde (green stick) tree. Palo verde trees are native to the dry regions of the American Southwest.
