Thank you, Sherry! Yes, it's amazing to stand in front of something from nature and get to paint it. I like acrylic because you can work fast to capture the moment.

Artist's Description

This was painted right before the rain came down. The sky and foggy mountains were almost indistinguishable from each other as the sun threw back a last pink light onto the clouds before nightfall. This scene could just be seen over my high backyard wall as I painted on my covered porch.

Greetings! I am so happy to be a part of this amazing worldwide community or artists. I come from a family of creative people and am grateful to my parents for cultivating my creativity which is now part of my daily life. I am a classically-trained musician and violinist with a doctorate in violin performance and until recently was the director and conductor of the La Verne Symphony Orchestra which I am happy to say still flourishes in that city. At the moment I've left the stage in order to raise our two little babies. Being a mom is what I do now. And the challenge is weaving creativity into this new life.
